Epilogues to Stone Fox

February 4, 2013

While all the 3rd grade students enjoyed reading Stone Fox by John Gardiner, not all were satisfied with the ending. This led to epilogue writing! Students all created epilogues to the story, each with a unique twist.  Check back often as new epilogues are added!

North, South, East or West. Which is the region that is the best?

January 25, 2013

Students studied the different regions of the United States, looking at climate, natural resources and geogrpahy, then decided which region would be the best to live in.  Check out what they had to say and see if you are persuaded to visit a part of the country you have never seen.

City of Ember

We are nearing the end of the City of Ember.  Lina, Doon and Poppy are getting ready to get in the boat  and follow the river out of Ember. Challenge Questions:  Answer one, two or all three of these questions in your comments.

1.  What do you think are some possible reasons the City of Ember may have been built?

2. What characteristics do Lina or Doon have that led them to solve the mystery of the torn up letter?  Use examples from the book.

3.  What will they find if they make they way out of Ember?
